Boating and Watercraft Safety Clinic

In years past, the Prior Lake Association in conjunction with the MN DNR conducted yearly boating safety classes and testing. The DNR, however, will now provide the classes and testing solely online as they no longer print instructional materials for classroom use.

Persons 12-17 years old, who are unsupervised and will be operating a boat over 25hp require a youth operator's permit. Education is also necessary for unsupervised 14-17 year olds who will operate a personal watercraft. Go to www.dnr.state.mn.us to register for the online course.  (Course is offered year-round)

Adults wanting to learn more about boat safety are also encouraged to register for the course and may also qualify for a discount on boat insurance.
