Family Fishing Tournament

Family Fishing Contest 2008

The Prior Lake Association Family Fishing Tournament will be held at Captain Jack’s as part of Lakefront Days, Sunday August 3rd.  The tournament is held as a way to get the whole family out fishing together.

The Prior Lake Association will be holding the Eighth Annual Family Fishing Tournament in conjunction with Lakefront Days, Sunday August 3rd.  The tournament is open to anglers of all ages and is a fun way to get the whole family out fishing together.  The tournament is hosted by Captain Jack’s and sponsored by Prior Lake Bait and Tackle and Gander Mountain.  The purpose of the tournament is to provide families with the opportunity to participate in a structured, but very “kid-friendly” fishing tournament.

The tournament will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with weigh-in at 2:00 p.m. and award ceremonies at 3:00 p.m. Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded for the three largest fish, by weight, for each of five species and one open class.  Each child is also entered in a drawing to choose one of the many door prizes, such as fishing nets, tackle boxes, spinning reels, rod and reel sets, fish baskets, minnow buckets, and much more.
