Meet the PLA Board

Tom Stephenson, President

Tom is the current President of the Prior Lake Association Board.

WoodyWoody Spitzmueller, Vice President

Woody has been a PLA Board member since 2000 and lived on Prior Lake since 1997. He grew up spending weekends water skiing, sailing and fishing at his parent’s lake home on Bone Lake, near Luck, WI. Woody enjoys boating, snowmobiling and all season lake-related activities with his wife, neighbors and family. Woody and his wife have 2 children and 6 grandchildren. His kids live out of state so the lake place helps provide an incentive for family gatherings. Woody assists with many of the PLA events, primarily the DNR Youth boating course. Other volunteer activities include the Prior Lake-Spring Lake Watershed District Board (Treasurer), the city Community Safety Advisory Committee (charter member) and AARP Tax Aide program (Shakopee site coordinator). Woody retired from Lockheed Martin in December 2003 credited with 38 years of service. He grew up in St. Paul and attended Cretin HS and the University of Minnesota. Woody met his wife Barb at work, and they were married in late 60’s in the Philadelphia area.

Donna enjoys the lake on her pontoon boat just tooling around visiting friends. She has been a Realtor with Edina Realty in Prior Lake for 25 years. Her newest project is opening the Laker’s Tavern & Pizza restaurant. Donna currently has 4 furry children and a parrot.

Steve PhotoSteven Reinders, Board Member

Steven has been a Board Member since 2015, enjoyed boating on Prior Lake since 1996 and has lived on the lake since 1998. His favorite activities on the lake are water skiing, lounging on his pontoon and lunch at Charlie’s on Prior. Steven also enjoys winter activities on the lake which usually include endless hours of clearing the snow off a skating rink for the neighborhood kids. When pulled away from the lake, Steve has a day job as Optometrist and owner of Complete Family Eyecare in Burnsville. Steven and his wife Jennifer have been married for 13 years and have two daughters, Abigail and Isabelle, who are also avid water skiers and lake lovers. Steven and Jennifer are long time members of Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church.

Julie PicJulie Myser, Board Member

Julie has lived on the lake with her husband Mike and have been a part of the Prior Lake Association since 2010. The great outdoors is a huge part of her life and living on a lake helps satisfy her desire to be active and compete with her husband. Whether it is surfing, kayaking or swimming across the lake in the summer, or skiing or skating in the winter, half the fun is being outside. The other half is working hard for a win while competing with Mike! If you do not see Julie out on the lake, she is usually out back with friends and family or sitting on my perch on their dock, fishing and watching others having fun on the lake.

Judy Faust PicJudy Faust

Judy and her husband, Tony, have lived in Prior Lake since 1998 and Judy has been active with the Prior Lake Association most of that time. Over the years, they have acquired all of the necessary possessions needed for lake living: a deckboat, 2 jet skis, 2 paddle boards, a hot tub and a pool!  They thoroughly enjoy all lake activities with family, friends and their 2 dogs. They also feel very fortunate for Charlie’s, the restaurant on the lake, that welcomes their furry friends. The PLA and its members have been a great addition to their life experiences in Prior Lake with its promotion of recreational lake activities as well as safety, educational and lake quality improvements. They encourage everyone that enjoys time on Prior Lake and appreciates this wonderful natural resource to become members and participate in any way that they can!
